Simply place the stake in the ground, tie your tomato or other vining plant to the stake, and pour water and nutrients directly into the tube. Depending on location, plant variety, and time of year, starting at just two cups of water poured into the step stake every other days is typically all you need to grow healthy plants. The four small draining tubes at the base will do the rest by releasing the water and nutrients next to the roots, just where they are needed for your plants to grow.
